Western Electric / IPC LU-1004 (2)15” 8Ohm Theater Speakers Working Tested 6.4/6.8Ohm. The speakers tested on Fluke 79II multimeter and are both working
well no rubbing of voice coils. Both cones are original and have same number stamped on back of each #2518-2. One woofer cone has been damaged
Many years ago and was professionally repaired when it occurred. This has not affected sound
Or performance. The other speaker has some significant paint loss on the metal basket. The cone is a
little dirty but cone is intact with no holes or rips. (See detailed pics)This very “Rare” pair of Western Electric speakers were removed from a former movie theatre in Washington D.C. a number of years back when the building was being renovated. They were in the original Western Electric 753C / IPC system enclosures. I would have liked to have them as well unfortunately they were integrated with the construction of the theater and they would have to be taken part and brought down 3 floors.
