    Description

This is a nice vintage 1934 Philco Radio Model 45C.  Because of the Art Deco style of the grille, it is known as the "Butterfly".  It has a 6-tube superhet chassis and two bands (broadcast and shortwave).  It has an electromagnetic dynamic speaker with a like new looking cone.  The Philco knobs are original.  The grille cloth is a very nice replacement.  It looks like a previous owner started restoring this radio.  Parts of the cabinet were repaired but there is some wrinkling of the veneer panel on the front lower right side.  The cabinet was stripped but the original lacquer was not applied.  The cabinet looks nice the way it is but I will leave it up to you if you want to do your own repairs and finish.  The chassis has new capacitors, a new silk-covered cloth power cord, and a new external antenna.  The radio is playing loud and clear.  The tuning capacitor is very stiff so it will probably have to lubricated.  Please view all the pictures, they are a part of my description.  The radio is being sold AS IS and without warranty.  The dimensions are approximately 15.50" W X 9.60" H X 8" D.  This is a somewhat heavy tabletop radio.  I pack all radios with care and they are insured when shipped.
